Heirloom Tomato Feast at Mercedes Restaurant

Chef Melissa Axelrod of Melissa Claire's Kitchen is teaming up with Chef Liz Bills of California Table to launch a new monthly dinner event called the Sunday Supper Series. The first dinner will be a five-course Heirloom Tomato Feast held at Mercedes Restaurant on Sunday, August 16th at 5:00 PM. Celebrating the short season where locally grown tomatoes of all types are available, the menu will include Early Girl Gazpacho shots with Tomato Risotto Croquette, Tomato "Charcuterie" Plate, Heirloom Tomato Salad, Fried Green Tomato BLT, and Grass-Fed Beef Braised in Local Tomatoes, as well as a dessert of Sun Gold Tomato Compote over Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. Vegetarian options are also available.

The Heirloom Tomato Feast begins at 5:00 PM at Mercedes Restaurant in San Francisco's Financial District, located at 653 Commercial Street at Montgomery. The price per person is $55, and a wine pairing of five local dry rosés is available for an additional $30. This event can only accommodate 60 guests.
